Meditation Practice in Kayenta

Here, among the sheltering red rock cliffs in the Kayenta community of Ivins, Utah we aspire to bring loving-kindness, compassion, joy and peace to a troubled world.  Meditation periods, classes and retreats are offered for those interested in exploring and deepening a Buddhist spiritual path.

Lama Thupten Gyaltsen Dorje Rinpoche is the resident teacher of Urgyen Samten Ling Gonpa and has studied and practiced the Buddhadharma for over 50 years. He was ordained as Lama in 1997 and was given the title of Rinpoche in 2013. Rinpoche currently has sanghas in Tubac, AZ, Ivins, UT, Salt Lake City, UT, and Scotland.

Lama Konchok Chodrak Palden has been a student of Buddhism for 20 years. He was ordained a Lama by Shangpa Rinpoche in 2016. and has studied with Lama Thupten Rinpoche since 2005. He currently teaches meditation at Urgyen Samten Ling in Salt Lake City and is well known for infusing practice with a joyful attitude.

Lhamo Thupten Dawa Khandro has been student of Buddhism since 1997, and has been ordained in both  Zen Buddhist and Tibetan Buddhist lineages.  She was ordained a Lama in May of 2017, and has founded Tahri Marpo Ling with the guidance and blessings of Lama Thupten Dorje Gyaltsen Rinpoche, of Urgyen Samten Ling.
