Hello to all. Here are the highlights for the coming two weeks!
10 am on Thursday, January 2nd, I will be making torma at my home, to be used during the Green Tara Puja the following morning. E-mail me if you are interested in learning how to make the torma.
9 am on Friday, January 3rd, Green Tara Puja. Everyone in the surrounding community who wants to come is welcome to the Green Tara Puja. Please bring a small food offering. Finger foods that are not wrapped and aren’t sticky/messy are best.
9 – 10 am, Sunday, January 5th and 12th, Awakened Mornings. This Sunday morning meditation practice is easily accessible for everyone, from beginner to seasoned practitioner. We’ll begin with guided meditations to focus the mind, open the heart, and transform suffering. ending with a short form of the Chenrezig Practice (the Buddha of Compassion), with prayers in English.
Wednesday, January 8th from 6-7:30 pm the Group Ngondro Practice will be available to all who have completed both the Intro to Tibetan Buddhism and the Ngondro Class. Our reading for this event: pp 149-167 of The Words of My Perfect Teacher. If you haven’t read it yet, please don’t let that stop you from joining in.
9-10 am on Friday, January 10th, Green Tara Practice. This meditation period is open to all. Tara is known as the Mother of All Buddhas. She has taken a vow to always manifest in feminine form, and “specializes” in removing the anxiety and fear of all sentient beings.
This month, Sojong will be on January 15th, from 6-7:30pm. It’s as the near to the Full Moon as I could manage, given our current schedule. If you have taken refuge, please attend if possible, for this ceremony of mending and renewing our vows.
I wish all of you many blessings, and thank you for your faith and devotion!
